What the collar reads
Four signals, taken all day,
from the one place a collar sits.
The sensor pod rides on the underside of the neck, where the carotid pulse is closest to the surface. Nothing to shave, nothing to charge daily, no behaviour to change.
Respiration
Breathing rate derived from the radar's micromotion sensing. A rising resting rate is often the first number to move, and the one owners rarely catch by eye.

Why one number never works

A resting heart rate that means nothing on one dog is an early warning on another. Petuno never measures your dog against a breed chart. It measures today against their own last ninety days.

Is Petuno a medical device?
No. Petuno measures trends and tells you when your dog's own numbers move away from their own normal. It doesn't diagnose anything. That's your vet's job, which is exactly why every alert comes with a report you can hand them.
Does it work through a thick coat?
Yes. The sensor pod sits on the underside of the neck and the band applies light, even pressure to part the fur at the contact point. No shaving. On very dense double coats the app asks you to nudge the pod a centimetre and confirms signal quality in a few seconds.
What happens to the data?
Vitals are processed on the collar; only summaries and flagged windows leave it. Your history is yours. Export it or delete it in one tap, and nothing is sold to anyone, ever.
How long does the battery last?
We will publish a firm number after bench testing, not a lab estimate. The design target is several days of continuous vitals with periodic location. Live tracking at one second refresh is much shorter, and the app will always show the honest figure for how you actually use it.
